Leap Year

I think of the earth as a beautiful creation, but just yesterday I was wondering why there are 6 extra hours in a year, requiring us to add a day to a year every 4 years. I felt there had to be a reason for those extra 6 hours and that it should tie to something. And today, I stumbled upon a (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I08omHraTg) that answered my question. The length of a lunar day is 24 hours and 50 minutes (1490 minutes). A year has 525,960 minutes (365.25\*24\*60). 525,960/1490 = 352.99. So basically, there are 353 lunar days that make up a year. So the length of a year is tied to the moon.
