Hey! I’m not personally a flat earther but I am interested in the “sub-culture” which has developed around the concept. I was hoping ya’ll could clarify some things I’ve been wondering! (please do not ban me I’m generally curious)

I guess this is a kind of a strange post as I am not apart of this community belief wise, I am however interested in how or why you got introduced to this. For anyone answering my questions thank you for your time, I really appreciate it! 1. What made you join this community and or sub culture, is it a manner of talking with like minded individuals or is the intention closer to educating people who have a differing belief? 2. Has the outside world treated you differently based on this belief? 3. How would you say one gets integrated into this “sub-culture”? 4. Of course one can not speak for everyone, but those the average member tend to have other beliefs which fall outside of the norm? 5. Would you say the flat earth community is most popular in the west? If so, why? 6. I have noticed a biblical theme around a lot of flat earthers, is there a correlation between the religion and this belief? 7. Some of these other ideas which is surrounding the Flat-Earth belief system seems farfetched from an outsiders perspective. Thanks again for anyone who took the time to answer me! Also Idk what these flairs mean so I apologize if I use them incorrectly. I chose the POV one cause I just wanted a different POV.

    2. No, not for the ones who actually ask me what it is. A lot of people think of a square Flat Earth map and that you will fall off the edge – which isn’t the case at all.
    6. It’s not *just biblical* – I think most people here look at the Bible like a history. Almost every ancient culture has references to Flat Earth, Star structures, etc – the Bible is just the most available and widely read.

The thing that was my ah-ha moment was when I realized that Flat Earth model is really like a big giant clock.

  • For question #6, it isn’t strictly scriptural, and you can 100% be a Christian and be a round earther. However, without a God, there is no reason in my opinion to believe the earth isn’t round. There are multiple verses that declare the world is flat or has a solid surface above it or is unmoving. Now not all of the verses are 1

2.yes, people generally roll their eyes when I say I like to hang out in these places.

7.Okay, so you just come here to attack me? Not very nice if you want me to answer your interrogation tactic style questions. You want to point a flashlight at me and ask me what I was doing may,12,2012?
Cause I know exactly where I was. I was watching a meteor shower when my grandpa told me how when he worked at nasa he faked a bunch of projects and pocketed the money. And that night, tears in his eyes, big man, war hero, hadn’t cried since childhood, told me that he finally couldn’t keep it inside anymore and that he had to tell me so much that I wouldn’t understand at the time but that one day I would put all the pieces together and the puzzles image would reveal itself to be the image that we had always know but had long since swept under the rig so some small group of people could gain financial advantage from the rest of us. It took me a while to understand. I was so niece back then. I get teary just thinking about that memory now. Thank you gramps! I will see you in heaven one day! RIP Col. Mackenzie. 🙏🙏🙏

  • 1. I joined the community or became a “flat earther” after attending my 3rd year in Photography School. After my 3rd year and I moved cross country from East to West, I started taking pictures of the night sky. (less light pollution in AZ vs CT), that’s when everything clicked for me, when I started using my own results and the methods I was taught for 3 years to SEE the actual truth in the sky. That EVERYTHING revolves around US. WE are stationary. WE DONT MOVE.

It was a scary revelation because I was taught differently my entire life and to see something multiples times with my EYES that contradicts what I read in books was one of the hardest realities to accept.

    2. Yes. Especially my mother, and some friends. Who seem to think that I’ve been brainwashed, though they tell me to trust God. Though God explicitly stated in Genesis 1:1 how the world was created and how the stars are used for signs.. (basically they told me on brainwashed and told me to trust God, though God’s world is the Flat earth)

    5. I would say it’s ridiculed a lot. If it’s openly ridiculed by the masses, no one will give it a second thought to ACTUALLY consider the notion of it.

    6. Yes, here are some Bible verses that depict a Flat earth. 1 Chronicles 16:30, 1 Samuel 2:8, Isaiah 40:22, Job 28:24, Job 37:3, Psalms 75:3, Psalms 104:5, Revelation 7:1, Genesis 1:1-9

    7. Because you’ve been conditioned since child birth to believe what you’re told instead of what you see, feel and experience. When you first go to school, preschool or kindergarten, your met with an Apple on the teaches desk (similar to Adam and Eve and Forbidden Fruit) and a globe. The indoctrination started YOUNG.
